Berner's Bay Cabin

Recently, Brian, Neka, and I spent a weekend at the Berner's Bay Forest Service
Cabin with two of our good friends, Joanne and Chris Carson.
The only way to get there is by boat.

We had all our gear (we went pretty plush...
Jo and Chris, had an inflating queen size mattress!!)

We also had all four dogs. Brian and I of course have Neka, and Jo and Chris
have Neka's brother, Taku; a pit bull mix, Otis; and their dashhound, Camo.
It is so great that all of our dogs get along together.
They kept themselves very busy.
It rained/drizzled all day Saturday, but we played cards and dice.
It was a very relaxing weekend for all of us.

Below is a picture of the cabin from the water.
Sawmill Creek provides a great waterfall to hear and see.
The view from the beach in front of the cabin, looking up into Berner's Bay.
The Carson boat.
Chris and I in the boat.
Joanne inside the cabin.
Brian taking Camo for a ride. This little gal is fearless.
She thinks she is a bull dog/retriever mix because she has to keep up with Otis and Taku.Chris out in the dinghy.
Otis and Taku playing keep away.
Keeping dry, playing cards out of the rain.
Taku taking a swim.
Brian attempting to fish, but a dog (Neka) got in the way.
Camo, trying to look nonchalant.
Otis taking a snooze by the warm fire.
Camo "hiding." She blends in real well doesn't she.
Finally, the dogs are just watching this time, no swimming after the lure.
Exploring.
Jeanette and Joanne.
The whole gang, Neka, Brian, Taku, Joanne, Otis, Jeanette, Camo, and Chris.
Getting ready to go home, just look at all that gear!
And this is just a portion of the stuff we brought!!!

  1. Looks like some good ol' fashioned southeast Alaska fun! I miss those views but you can keep the rain. ;-)
