Haines Bears and .....

These are just a few of the bears that I saw in Haines last week.  Enjoy.
This male bear was across the river from me.

Here are a mama and her two cubs.  The cubs are last years, that is why they are so large.  I was only about 40 feet from them.  The sound on the video is the wind blowing.  It seems to always be blowing in Haines.

There they go with the catch of the day.

They hauled the fish up into the woods and then chowed down.

Another set of cubs that got separated from their mom.  These cubs are this years.

Take a look at this and see if you can figure out what this squirrel was doing.

Kenya at Nana and Papa's house, three days old.
Wanted folks to also know she weighed 7 lbs and 5 oz at birth, not 7 1/2 lbs.
Kenya, 5 days old, laying on her mom and dad's couch looking at big sister Kylie and Nana.

Did you notice the wrinkles on the forehead?  Just like her dad.  She looks alot like Jesse.

Here is big sis getting all excited with Nana and Kenya.
Taking Nana to the airport for her trip to Haines.
Oh yeahhhhh.... Life in Haines!!!  This is Brian's dad, Bob, resting his eyes on his deck in Haines.
Neka and Brian also had to get in on some relaxation.
Man, I don't think I would use those for a pillow!!!
Amy and cousin Marshall (from Texas) enjoying an ice cream cone on the deck.
The "Cannery" in Haines.

I entered a cross stitch blanket that I made for Kylie in the Southeast Alaska State Fair.
Well, I got first place!!!
 Another great day in Haines.
Dad in front of the little shuttle that he drives for the cruise ship tourists in Haines.  He takes them from the ship to land where they can catch the buses into town.  The dock is quite long and some folks prefer riding.

Christmas..

We had a great time for Christmas this year.  We spread it out from Christmas Eve through Sunday.
Amy spent Christmas Eve at our house so that Santa could come here.  We always have so much fun with her.  She has spent every Christmas Eve here with us.

It was only Nana, Papa, Kylie, and Amy on Christmas Morning to open Santa stockings.  Jesse and Karla dropped Kylie off at about 7:15AM so they could walk and remember the military personnel who are not at home this holiday season to celebrate Christmas with their families.
Amy was so happy she got her Barbie Horse from Santa.
Look what Santa had to do with Neka's stocking so Neka couldn't get into it before we got up.  It is hanging over Neka's food dishes in the back hallway.  Good job Santa!
Neka had a good time with all the new bones and treats.
Karla and Jesse arrived around 9:30AM to open their stockings.  Kylie got a cool little riding/walking toy from Santa.  She was already to get on it and go!  She is almost sitting on her own now and can roll.  Also has her third tooth coming in.  She was just 6 months old on December 22.

 Having a good time!!
Jesse, Kylie, and Amy.
 Oh, boy, I'm happy!!!!

Aunt Janice, Uncle Mike, Jesse, Karla, Kylie, Savanna, Nate, and Amy
all came over on Sunday, the 26th when we had our Christmas Dinner and opened the rest of the presents.

Oh, well, I guess he will have to get used to it, as I like to take pictures!
Nate just got a job at Superbear where Brian works and is very pleased; he is working in the produce section.  At this time, they have not set a date for the wedding.
